Ex-Lazio Midfielder Ledesma: “Immobile Can Make a Bigger Impact Than Other Strikers”

Former Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma thought that the Biancocelesti were firmly involved in the fight for a top four finish this season.

Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 38-year-old touched on the fight for fourth.

At the moment I think that Atalanta are the team with an extra gear. Napoli are also growing and Lazio are relaunching themselves well.

Ledesma then spoke about the importance of top strikers, including Biancocelesti star Ciro Immobile.

The goal scorers could make the difference, from Immobile, Muriel, Mertens and Insigne to Cristiano Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic.

But I think Immobile will be able to make a bigger impact if he returns to scoring at his own pace.

The 31-year-old Immobile has scored 14 goals in 26 Serie A appearances so far this season, but has failed to find the net in the last seven league outings, disappointing for last season’s European Golden Boot winner.
