Former Italian forward Antonio Cassano has backed Simone Inzaghi for his work so far with Lazio this season.
It has been an up-and-down campaign for Lazio as of late. The Biancocelesti has had multiple runs of both key victories and winless streaks in recent months. Still, the Italian side has managed to deal with adversity as it currently still remains a contender for a top-four spot in Serie A.
Cassano is in awe of Inzaghi’s work so far this season. In speaking to Christian Vieri’s Twitch channel (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Cassano touched on the Lazio and Torino match dilemma along with his thoughts on Inzaghi.
If Lazio wins against Torino, they will be one point back of fourth place, with Immobile not scoring in two and a half months.
Simone Inzaghi is doing a really great job, it’s incredible.
Still, Cassano is not necessarily convinced that Inzaghi will go on to sign a new contract extension deal with Lazio.
Renewal? I have some doubts…
It remains to be seen whether Lazio officials and Inzaghi will soon come to terms on a new contract extension agreement.
