Lazio Manager Simone Inzaghi Tests Positive for COVID-19

Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi has tested positive for the coronavirus, as noted by the Italian-based outlet Sky Sport.

Lazio announced via a press release that a member of the team’s technical staff and some members of his family tested positive for the coronavirus. The club did not reveal as to who tested positive but rather made note that it plans to follow the set health protocols with the individual.

As mentioned by Sky Sport, Inzaghi’s wife, Gaia Lucariello Inzaghi, revealed on Instagram that the Lazio manager and members of the family did test positive for the coronavirus and are all now following the self-isolation measures.

Hello everyone. We wanted to tell you that unfortunately our whole family, after a swab done at home, tested positive for coronavirus. We are fine and in isolation as per protocol.

Inzaghi is now expected to miss Lazio’s upcoming Serie A fixture against Verona. It remains to be seen as to when the Italian manager will be able to return to the sidelines for a Lazio match.

The Biancocelesti currently stands at sixth place in the league standings.
