Lazio target Rafael Santos Borré’s relationship with Argentinian side River Plate is slowly deteriorating ahead of his move away from the club this summer.
According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 25-year-old Colombian will not be joining Brazilian side Gremio and has decided not to sign a contract renewal with River Plate, instead wanting a move to Europe.
Borré declined the Argentinian club’s €1.6 million per season contract offer and now his behaviour is beginning to tire River.
The Colombian forward did not start in yesterday’s 2-1 Copa Argentina win over Atletico Tucuman, instead coming on in the final 15 minutes. He had previously started seven out of the last eight league matches.
Lazio are linked with Borré and are considering signing the 25-year-old on a free transfer this summer, after Kosovan forward Vedat Muriqi’s disappointing first season in Rome.
This season, Borré has scored five goals in eight league matches.
