UEFA Updates Their Club Coefficient Rankings; Lazio Remains Status Quo

UEFA has updated its club coefficient rankings on its official website, and Lazio finds itself within the top 35 clubs in Europe. Simone Inzaghi’s side is in 34th place and ahead of historic clubs such as AC Milan, who sit in 53rd.

Despite an impressive showing in their return to the UEFA Champions League and advancing to the competition’s knockout stages, the Biancocelesti didn’t improve their ranking. Nonetheless, should Lazio sneak into the top four and have Champions League competition next year, then perhaps the Rome-based club can see improvement to their UEFA ranking.

The other Serie A clubs ahead of Lazio in the coefficient rankings are Atalanta BC (27th), Inter Milan (26th), Napoli (20th), AS Roma (15th), and Juventus FC (4th).

Although it was a rough 2020-21 season for Italian football as no Serie A clubs advanced past the Round of 16 in the Champions League, only Roma represents the league in UEFA Europa League. Nonetheless, having six clubs in the top 35, Serie A is hoping for a bounce-back season in 2021-22 in Europe.
