Lazio has only a handful of matches left in the Serie A season as Simone Inzaghi’s side makes one last push to try and finish in the top four that allows them to play in the UEFA Champions League next season.

In an interview with La Lazio Siamo Noi, former Lazio striker Giuseppe Galderisi discussed the tight race for the top four in Serie A. The 58-year-old stated that there’s enough time for Lazio to sneak into a top-four finish before the season ends.

There is time, and Lazio is doing well and is winning. They have found the right way to do things in a certain way, breadth, and depth. I like this final sprint in the league because many teams can do well, and Lazio is one.

Galderisi then touched on the ongoing topic of whether Inzaghi will extend his contract with Lazio as discussions on both sides continue. Regardless of what happens in the end, Galderisi hopes that both parties involved can reach an agreement.

I don’t know what Simone has to do with the club, but I think it’s pretty clear how good Inzaghi is and how willing he is to give Lazio everything. Detaching from the Biancocelesti colors could be a problem.

In the capital, the coach has shown what he’s worth, and in my opinion, he will continue to coach Lazio. The club is well aware of his qualities from a human and technical point of view.

Finally, the last topic that Galderisi touched on concerning Lazio concerns Ciro Immobile, who will suit up for Italy at Euro 2020 this summer and help the Azzurri qualify for next year’s 2022 FIFA World Cup. Over the last FIFA international break, Immobile scored two goals in three games, and the Lazio striker will be a critical figure for manager Roberto Mancini.

Italy is too tied to a striker like him. He is too important of a player. I personally like him very much and Mancini takes him very seriously. We need him. I hope these matches can help him recover and free himself. In the national team, when he was unable to score, I saw him a bit nervous.

As a striker, when you live certain moments, you have to be good and balanced. If he continues to do things as he always has, there are no such concrete strikers in Italy like him. One who attacks space like Immobile does not exist right now . I hope that he can soon get rid of these difficulties that, in reality, do not exist because he is genuinely an important player.
