Lazio Remember Mirko Fersini on 9th Anniversary of His Death

Lazio remembered Primavera player Mirko Fersini on the ninth anniversary of his death.

The young Italian was involved in an accident whilst driving his Vespa on 6th April 2012 and passed away six days later after failing to recover whilst in a coma.

The Biancocelesti’s training grounds were named after Fersini and he has never been forgotten by the Lazio faithful, who often hold up banners featuring the Italian during home games.

Lazio posted a short tribute to the player earlier today, saying:

Too soon an eagle has gone. Mirko Fersini has left an unbridgeable gap in the hearts of his family, his teammates, his friends and the whole of S.S. Lazio.

He left memories and emotions in the minds of the people who loved him, the same people who, nine years after that tragic afternoon, keep his memory alive day after day. Your smile is our victory.

Goodbye Mirko.
