Lazio Striker Ciro Immobile’s Goal Drought Reaches 8 Consecutive Games

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile has not scored in the last eight consecutive Serie A games, his longest goal drought for the Biancocelesti.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian forward was not able to find the back of the net against Hellas Verona in yesterday’s 1-0 win.

The Gialloblu are one of Immobile’s favourite opponents, with the Italian having scored 11 goals in 12 career appearances against the Veneto-based club, but he still failed to score in yesterday’s game.

Immobile’s last goal came against Cagliari on the 7th of February, more than two months ago now. In the Lazio environment, there’s no fear, however, and the club are confident that the 31-year-old Italian will return to his scoring ways soon enough.

The Biancocelesti’s next game is against Benevento this weekend, giving Immobile yet another opportunity to break his drought and return to the scoresheet. Earlier this season the former Torino man did score against Benevento to secure a key point for the Roman club.
