Lazio goalkeeper Pepe Reina was at the top of his game during the team’s Serie A fixture against Verona, although he did not have to do much in the 1-0 win. Verona failed to record a shot on target in the match and finished the match without a goal.
For Reina, he recorded the eighth league clean sheet of his season and the first one since Lazio’s recent 1-0 win over Udinese. Overall, he only trails Inter Milan’s Samir Handanovic (12) and AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma (9) in the Serie A clean sheets leaderboard this season. Reina is currently tied with Napoli’s David Ospina’s and Udinese’s Juan Musso for the third most league clean sheets this season with eight.
Even with his prime days behind him, Reina continues to showcase that he is well capable of being a reliable starting goalkeeper for a team in Europe’s top five leagues.
The Spanish goalkeeper now looks ahead to helping Lazio extend its winning streak in the upcoming fixture against Benevento.
