Italian journalist Gabriele De Bari wasn’t sure that Lazio would achieve a top-four finish this season.
Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Il Messaggero journalist first spoke about the fight for Champions League qualification.
I don’t know about second place but I think AC Milan be in the top four. I expect to see Juve in the Champions League, it would be sensational not to have them in the top four.
I think Atalanta will take the last Champions League spot, they are always in better physical condition than other teams. They’ll make it difficult for Juventus this weekend.
He touched on which coaches he expects to get dismissed this summer.
For now, we have two certainties: Gattuso will leave Napoli and Fonseca will leave Roma. If Pirlo doesn’t achieve qualification to the Champions League he’ll leave too.
De Bari wasn’t impressed with Kosovan forward Vedat Muriqi this season.
Muriqi is embarrassing. It’s not a brilliant Lazio, of the top teams they’re the one who suffers the most.
He commented on Felipe Caicedo’s disallowed goal against Hellas Verona.
The foul on Caicedo? It’s difficult to say. Remember the penalty given to Lazio against Spezia? What are we complaining about?
Finally, De Bari spoke about Lazio’s many offensive options.
I prefer Correa when he’s in good shape, he has great technique and imagination. Unfortunately, he’s inconsistent. Caicedo is more of a centre forward.
Immobile doesn’t score goals anymore, that’s the problem. If he scored, the team’s lack of form would be overshadowed.
Mentally I think he’s fine, he scored with the national team. We knew he couldn’t repeat last season but we expected a few more goals, maybe he’ll come back to score in the final part of the season.
