Lazio midfielder Gonzalo Escalante provided for his take on the tactical elements of Italian football.

Escalante has already played in three different leagues in his career so far, which includes runs in Argentina’s Primera Division and Spain’s La Liga. The Argentine midfielder has noticed a variety of contrasting tactical approaches among the three leagues that he has played in.

Escalante touched on this briefly during his talk Boca Juniors’ ‘El Canal del Boca’ show on Youtube.

Italian football is very tactical; we see a lot of videos. In Spain, you always move with the ball. In Argentina I played as a child, but there are many individual duels, a lot of ‘garra’. Here people tell me ‘how boring Boca-River is’, but that’s how derbies are, that’s how they’re played.

Escalante has accommodated well so far in his first season with Lazio. The Argentine midfielder will surely aim to be a key player over Lazio’s remaining fixtures this season.
