Premier League giants Manchester United have again turned their attention to Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to a report from Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport earlier today, the Red Devils are looking for a long-term replacement for French playmaker Paul Pogba, whose contract expires with the Premier League side next summer.
United have been linked with Milinkovic-Savic for some time now, but may finally look to pull the trigger this summer.
The 26-year-old Serbian midfielder’s future with Lazio may be linked to them achieving qualification to the Champions League again this season, a tough ask considering the teams all vying for a top-four finish.
Milinkovic-Savic has been a key man for the Biancocelesti this campaign, hardly missing a game and securing 11 points for the club with his goals in the league.
The Serb has made 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2972 minutes. In that time, he has scored seven goals and provided nine assists.
