Lazio Have Lost €20m in Ticket Sales as a Result of the Covid-19 Pandemic

Lazio have lost around €20 million in ticket sales due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the fifth-worst in Serie A.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, Serie A clubs are hoping that having fans inside some stadiums for this summer’s European Championship will prove that it’s safe for them to return for next season as well.

Without fans, there’s no passion or atmosphere inside stadiums, no crowd to motivate or stress the players, and importantly no earnings from ticket sales, vital for Italian clubs.

The worst-hit in this regard is Juventus, who have lost around €80 million in ticket sales. They are followed by Inter with €60 million, AC Milan with €40 million and Roma with €38 million.

In fifth place, Lazio and Atalanta are tied, having both missed out on around €20 million as a result of the closed stadiums. Napoli then follow, having missed out on €17 million, with the rest of the league behind that.
