Lazio Forward Correa Could Leave In the Summer With Offers From England & Spain

Lazio forward Joaquin Correa may be sold by the Biancocelesti in the upcoming summer transfer window.

According to a report from Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 26-year-old Argentinian forward is often criticised for his lack of goalscoring ability and lack of calmness in front of goal and could be sold by the Biancocelesti for a significant amount.

Correa was linked with a move to Juventus in last summer’s transfer window, but negotiations stalled as the Roman club had little time to find an adequate replacement. Since then, however, Correa’s entourage have received many offers for him, including from England and Spain.

In his contract, Correa has a release clause of €80 million, but even €40 million may be enough to convince president Claudio Lotito to begin negotiations.

Much still depends on the ending of Correa’s season, as a few more goals and helping achieve Champions League qualification with the squad may see him stay with the team for the foreseeable future.

The 26-year-old Correa has scored six goals and provided five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season.
