It’s been over a week since Simone Inzaghi tested positive for the coronavirus. As a result, Lazio assistant manager Massimiliano Farris has taken over the position on an interim basis.
Last week, Lazio came away with a last-minute 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona. This week, Inzaghi will miss his second fixture, and Farris spoke to the media at a press conference, where he provided an update on the Biancocelesti gaffer. Lazio News relayed the comments made by Farris.
The coach is fine and better. We are just waiting for his negative swab. Hopefully, it will arrive soon. The staff’s thought is to be able to dedicate another success like that of Verona to him.
I find myself uncomfortable because I know how much he competes with his brother, but I will surely bring greetings to Pippo. It will be a good battle.
Farris also commented on the squad as they head into the fixture against Benevento Calcio.
The team is doing good and has trained well. There are two more players available tomorrow (Correa and Lazzari), but we have lost Caicedo.
At this stage of the season, we may experience some players picking up suspensions. As a result, there we will have to make rotations to the starting eleven.
