Lazio forward Ciro Immobile is well renowned as one of the top penalty takers in Europe’s top five leagues today. For instance, Immobile scored on 14 out of his 15 penalty attempts (93%) over his European Golden Boot-winning campaign last season.

However, Immobile has had his penalty kick struggles this season. The Italian forward just recently missed on a penalty attempt during Lazio’s Serie A fixture against Benevento, although he did make up for it with the two goals scored in the match.

Overall, Immobile has now gone on to miss three out of his six such attempts in league play this season. Over the last four Serie A campaigns, Immobile finished off on 31 of his 33 penalty attempts, which ranked among the best within Europe’s top five leagues.

Still, this should not be much of a concern to Lazio. Immobile remains as the clear-cut top penalty taker within the team and this is not expected to change anything soon.
