Lazio Women forward Francesca Pittaccio was overjoyed with the team’s 3-0 win over Orobica Calcio yesterday.
Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) after the game, the 24-year-old Italian spoke positively about the game.
We knew it was a match that we had to win. When I was substituted in, after just a few minutes, I got the penalty and then I scored twice.
We are trying to reach the goal we have had since the beginning of the year. With the new coach, we have changed the type of training and you can see it on the pitch – we have done a great job both physically and mentally.
That streak of draws that seemed endless has allowed us to react and learn the patterns to adapt to new situations. We’re finally getting results. In addition to the goals we’re scoring, it’s important not to concede them in order to close out games in the best possible way.
The next game will be a crucial one but we’ll face it with the sole aim of getting three points.
This season I’ve had many ups and downs – I’ve had a lot of difficulties due to some injuries. My strong point is my desire to go on the field and do well, giving everything I have for my team.
Lazio Women currently sit second in Serie B Women after 22 games, sitting four points behind league leaders Pomigliano. Their next game is against Ravenna Women on the 2nd of May.
