Formello: Lazio Duo Luis Alberto & Lulic Absent From Today’s Training Session

Lazio duo Luis Alberto and Senad Lulic were absent from today’s training session in Formello, ahead of Thursday’s league clash against Napoli.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the duo were absent from today’s session for an unknown reason, although it could simply be a question of managing the pair’s condition ahead of Thursday’s fixture.

Luiz Felipe and Gonzalo Escalante, who visited the Paideia clinic yesterday for tests, were also both absent, with the Argentinian midfielder in doubt for the trip to Naples.

Danilo Cataldi and Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro were both present for the session and should be included in the squad list on Thursday.

Coach Simone Inzaghi’s current idea is to start Adam Marusic on the right side of the three-man defense, with Francesco Acerbi and Stefan Radu joining the Montenegrin.

Manuel Lazzari will start as the right wing-back, with Mohamed Fares on the left. In the midfield, either Marco Parolo and Andreas Pereira could start in place of Luis Alberto, if he is forced to miss the clash.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is sure to start, whilst Lucas Leiva’s condition will be closely evaluated. The Brazilian midfielder received a painful blow to his calf in training today from Akpa Akpro and finished the session early after limping off.

Ciro Immobile also suffered a tough challenge, with Nicolo Armini accidentally hitting the 31-year-old Italian star on the shin during the run of play. The former Torino man suffered a contusion and missed the final drill of crosses and shots on goal. He’s still expected to start against Napoli.
