Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi will undergo a Covid-19 test today ahead of Thursday’s match against Napoli.
According to a report from Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 45-year-old Italian coach has been suffering from the virus for the last 12 days now, first testing positive on the 8th of April.
Inzaghi has had to work remotely from home whilst self-isolating, with assistant coach Massimiliano Farris taking over on the sidelines for the wins against Hellas Verona and Benevento.
The Biancocelesti coach’s Covid-19 test today will dictate whether he’ll be able to re-join the squad for Thursday’s match against the Partenopei or not.
Should he still test positive, then Farris will take over for the third consecutive game.
The match against Gennaro Gattuso’s side is a key clash in the top four race this season, as both teams are currently behind fourth-place Juventus, who sit on 62 points.
Napoli are only two points behind the Bianconeri, with Lazio then two points behind Gattuso’s side, although they have a game in hand.
