Lazio Striker Immobile Has Re-Discovered His Form in Crucial Stage of the Season

Lazio striker Ciro Immobile is finally back in form after suffering through an eight-game goal drought.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 31-year-old Italian scored twice and provided one assist in last week’s 5-3 win over Pippo Inzaghi’s Benevento, scoring his first goals in the league since the start of February.

It wasn’t only Immobile’s finishing that was impressive against the Campania-based side, with his running stats also worth highlighting. The former Torino man covered 12.25km on the pitch in almost 100 minutes, with his sprints peaking at over 30km per hour.

Immobile is now ready to face Napoli on Thursday this week, an opponent that he has a strong record against.

The 31-year-old Italian has scored in all five of his previous meetings with the Partenopei, but his winning goal in January 2020 and his goal during their first meeting against Napoli this season stand out.

The Biancocelesti star will be looking to confirm his run of good form and continue finding the back of the net, as the Roman club look to fight for a top-four finish this campaign.
