Formello: Lazio Midfielder Luis Alberto Likely to Start Against Napoli on the Bench

Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto is likely to start tomorrow’s match against Napoli on the bench.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 28-year-old Spaniard’s ankle is still painful and he didn’t even take part in yesterday’s training session.

He will still be called up for tomorrow’s game but is more likely to be rested so he can recover in time for next week’s match against AC Milan.

Lucas Leiva, who suffered a painful blow courtesy of Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro in training yesterday, is fit enough to start tomorrow, even if he wore an obvious bandage on his right calf today.

Danilo Cataldi will be on the bench in tomorrow’s game after his recovery, with Marco Parolo joining him. Gonzalo Escalante will be absent.

The favourite to start in Luis Alberto’s place is Andreas Pereira, who was tried out as a left mezzala in training today.

He may start alongside Lucas Leiva and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Behind them will be Adam Marusic, Francesco Acerbi and Stefan Radu, with Manuel Lazzari and Mohamed Fares starting as the wing-backs.

Joaquin Correa will start alongside Ciro Immobile up front, with Spanish veteran Pepe Reina starting in goal.
