Lazio loanee Cristiano Lombardi has expressed his consideration towards possibly remaining at Serie B side Salernitana.
Lombardi joined Salernitana in the 2019 summer transfer window, where he went on to total for 23 appearances in all competitions over the following season. Lombardi stayed put with the side for this season, although his ongoing campaign has not gone accordingly due to a nagging muscle injury.
Still, Lombardi would (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) well consider staying with Salernitana and thus ending his stint with Lazio.
Every time I tried to return from injury, I was having bad feelings. Now I don’t feel any more discomfort.
I’m on loan at Salernitana from Lazio, but under the right conditions I’d gladly stay permanently. I owe it to the club, the director Fabiani, the coach, the group and the fans.
As Lombardi alluded to, the muscle injury has sidelined him for much of this season but still, the Italian midfielder is a capable talent when healthy and available.
