Lazio Women coach Carolina Morace was not impressed with Juventus president Andrea Agnelli’s attempt to launch the Super League.

Writing in a post on her Instagram page earlier today, the 57-year-old Italian highlighted the bitter taste left behind by the initiative.

Football is meritocracy, that of the small steps that makes you dream of finishing above everyone else because you have worked better.

I have always had great respect for the Agnelli family, for their history and for what they have represented.

This is a bad story from an ethical and moral point of view that combined with other mistakes has dragged the club down.

If there are important changes at Juventus next season, I would not be surprised.

The Super League was formally revealed on Sunday last week, but less than 72 hours later already seemed to be on its way out, with fans, journalists, players and clubs alike all denouncing the project.
