Improving Lazio Wing-Back Fares to Make Third Consecutive Start Against Napoli Tonight

Lazio wing-back Mohamed Fares is set to enjoy his third consecutive start against Napoli this evening.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 25-year-old Algerian has had a tough first season in Rome, suffering from a calf injury and still returning to his best after recovering from an ACL tear that he suffered in August 2019.

Finally, though, it appears that coach Simone Inzaghi’s trust in Fares is paying off, with the former SPAL man’s performances starting to reach the expected level.

Fares will start for the third consecutive game this evening against Napoli, having performed well against both Benevento and Hellas Verona in recent weeks.

The Algerian has benefitted from the physical issues that have been plaguing Senad Lulic this campaign, allowing him to experience some consistent minutes over the last two months.

The 25-year-old Fares has made 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1245 minutes. In that time, he has provided one assist.
