Lazio forward Joaquin Correa’s early goal against AC Milan this evening has set a new Biancocelesti benchmark.
According to a Tweet from stats provider OptaPaolo earlier today, the 26-year-old Argentinian scored after 77 seconds against the Rossoneri this evening, making it the fastest Lazio goal in Serie A since at least the 2004/05 season.
The 26-year-old Correa, who is contracted to the Roman club until 2024, has now scored eight goals across all competitions so far this season, having also provided six assists in that time.
The former Sevilla man has firmly cemented himself this season as the preferred partner for star forward Ciro Immobile, who has struggled to replicate his incredible form from last season.
Correa’s strong performances this season are also reflected in his statistics. Heading into the match against the Rossoneri, he averaged 4.19 shot-creating actions per 90 minutes, showing his impressive capabilities as a second striker.
1:17 – Joaquín Correa has scored the fastest Lazio’s goal in Serie A (after 1 minute and 17 seconds) since Opta collects this kind of data in 2004/05. Flash.#LazioMilan
