Lazio and AC Milan will be gearing up for a matchup that will not only see two clubs fighting to finish in the Serie A top four as the season winds down. However, a subplot to this fixture will see two quality midfielders go head-to-head in Franck Kessié and Sergej Milinković-Savić.

Kessié has appeared in 44 appearances for Milan and has scored 11 goals and registered five assists. The 24-year-old has shown that despite playing as a defensive midfielder, he can chip in offensively.

Meanwhile, Milinković-Savić has contributed with eight goals and 11 assists for Lazio this season. Nonetheless, this matchup will put two midfielders that play vital roles for their offenses despite being midfielders.

In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Lazio News), former Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini answered a question concerning which of the two midfielders he preferred. The answer might surprise some. Albertini stated that he would go with Milinković-Savić.

Milinković-Savić has the characteristics of a great champion; he has extraordinary elegance. I had always liked Kessié, even when he was criticized. The former has more talent, Franck more substance. If I have to choose, I say Milinković-Savić, but Kessié is fundamental for Milan, and he would be so in many teams.
