Formello: Lazio Defender Luiz Felipe Partially Returns to Squad Training

Lazio defender Luiz Felipe took part in some exercises with the squad at today’s training session in Formello.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 24-year-old Brazilian defender took part in the warm up and some exercises with the ball, before breaking away alongside Felipe Caicedo for individual work.

It’s unlikely that Luiz Felipe will feature in the match against Genoa on Sunday, but the hope is that he’ll be back in the squad for the following match against Fiorentina. He’s currently out of the Serie A squad registration list but he will be reinstated as soon as he’s fit.

Francesco Acerbi will be suspended for Sunday’s game due to accumulating five yellow cards and so either Wesley Hoedt or Marco Parolo will start in his place.

Gonzalo Escalante is still absent with calf strain, and Caicedo is still struggling with plantar fasciitis, although he’s expected to join the squad to face the Rossoblu.
