Lazio Face Serious Competition From Sevilla For Rangers Talent Ianis Hagi

Lazio now face competition from La Liga side Sevilla for Rangers talent Ianis Hagi.

According to a report from Scottish media outlet Glasgowtimes.co.uk earlier today, the Spanish side are now also interested in acquiring the 22-year-old Romanian forward, who has impressed this season with Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.

Cristian Bivolaru, managing director of Vitorul Constanta, the club founded by Romanian football legend Gheorghe Hagi, confirmed Sevilla’s interest in the 22-year-old Hagi, saying:

I don’t think the interest of Sevilla for Ianis is new. I think this interest was talked about before he was transferred to Rangers.

But I do know Lazio are also on this track too. So we will see what will happen in the summer with Ianis.

Lazio have been following Hagi for some time now and even attempted to make a move for the Romanian talent a year ago before Rangers exercised their buy option to sign him from Genk.

Hagi, who is contracted to Rangers until 2024, has made 30 appearances in the Scottish Premiership so far this season, for a total of 1809 minutes. In that time, he has scored six goals and provided nine assists, averaging 0.85 shots on target per 90 minutes.

  1. And what a joke that is. Hagi is on the bench for Rangers, how is this a solution for Lazio?
