Lazio President Lotito Slaps €70m Price Tag on Sevilla Target Luis Alberto

Sevilla have made a move for Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto but the Spaniard’s price tag may prove too high.

According to a report from Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Spanish side are interested in acquiring the 28-year-old Biancocelesti midfielder and have made a move for him, opening talks with the Roman club.

Biancocelesti president Claudio Lotito is not concerned, however, and has put a €70 million price tag on Luis Alberto, a high fee considering the current state of finances in football.

Lotito has no interest in lowering that request and is in a strong position currently, considering that Luis Alberto currently earns €3 million net per season and is contracted to Lazio until 2025.

The 28-year-old Luis Alberto has been a key part of coach Simone Inzaghi’s squad this season, having made 29 appearances in the league so far this campaign.

In that time, the Spanish midfielder has scored eight goals and provided one assist, having a non-penalty expected goals plus expected assists (npxG+xA) of 10.9.
