Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has had one season that is much deserving of more recognition. The Serbian midfielder currently sits at 17 total goal contributions in league play this season with the eight goals scored and nine assists recorded.
Milinkovic-Savic has also earned high honors by WhoScored. Among all Serie A players this season, Milinkovic-Savic has won eight WhoScored Man of the Match honors, which trails only Udinese’s Rodrigo de Paul (11) and Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne (9).
Lazio’s workhorse midfielder most recently won a WhoScored Man of the Match honor during the Biancocelesti’s league win against Verona. He wound up scoring the lone goal of the match in the team’s massive 1-0 win.
Milinkovic-Savic has also earned MOTM honors in fixtures such as the home wins against Fiorentina and Sampdoria this season.
One could argue that Milinkovic-Savic is well having the best and most efficient Serie A campaign of his Lazio career thanks to his potent play in the attack and defense.
