Lazio defender Wesley Hoedt will make his first start in almost two months against Genoa on Sunday.
According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, star defender Francesco Acerbi will be forced to miss Sunday’s match after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the 3-0 win over AC Milan on Monday.

Coach Simone Inzaghi has to decide whether to deploy Hoedt or Marco Parolo in Acerbi’s place and has seemingly decided to give the 27-year-old Dutchman a chance to impress.
The Southampton loanee’s last start came against Juventus on the 6th March, which Lazio ended up losing 3-1. The player’s confidence has been shaky since the 3-2 Coppa Italia loss to Atalanta at the end of January when his mistakes played a big role in the Biancocelesti’s defeat.
The 27-year-old Hoedt has made 25 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1497 minutes. In that time, he has picked up eight yellow cards and has helped the team keep three clean sheets.
