Lazio scored two straight goals after Adam Marusic scored an own goal at the beginning of the second half to give some life to Genoa CFC.
However, the Biancocelesti once again offered their opponent a lifeline, as Danilo Cataldi committed a foul inside the box on Milan Badelj, resulting in a penalty kick chance for the Grifone.
Gianluca Scamacca would convert the penalty kick to cut Lazio’s lead in half and perhaps give his side a fighting chance to at least come away with a draw as Genoa fights relegation.
