Lazio wing back Mohamed Fares is suspended for Saturday evening’s match against Fiorentina.

As announced in a statement by Lega Serie A earlier today, the 25-year-old Algerian wing-back will be forced to miss the upcoming match against the Viola after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in Sunday’s 4-3 win over Genoa.

It is likely that Fares will be replaced in the starting 11 by club captain Senad Lulic.

Brazilian midfielder Lucas Leiva also picked up a yellow card in that win, and so has now joined the list of Biancocelesti players who risk suspension should they pick up another booking.

The players at risk of this alongside Leiva are Luis Alberto, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Marco Parolo and Andreas Pereira.

In addition to Fares, Fiorentina defender Igor will be suspended for the match against the Biancocelesti after also picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the Viola’s 3-3 draw against Bologna.
