Lazio Defender Acerbi Returns From Suspension & Will Face Fiorentina on Saturday

Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi will return to the squad for Saturday’s match against Fiorentina.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 33-year-old Italian defender was forced to miss the 4-3 win over Genoa last week due to suspension, after having picked up five yellow cards in the league this season.

The 33-year-old Acerbi has only missed four games this campaign, last week’s match as well as three against Benevento, Napoli and AC Milan due to an injury. Last season he missed two matches (against Genoa and Bologna) and in the 2018/19 season only one absence (against Juventus).

Acerbi is an important leader on the pitch for coach Simone Inzaghi, and the 45-year-old Italian coach will be relying on the former Sassuolo man to lead the defense in the remaining games of the season, as the Biancocelesti look to achieve qualification to the Champions League.
