Lazio defender Francesco Acerbi is backing teammate Ciro Immobile to enjoy success in the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament.
The Italian national team still has not picked out that one center-forward to lead the side upfront on a game-by-game basis. The likes of Immobile, Andrea Belotti and even Moise Kean are all vying to take hold of this starting spot for Italy.
Acerbi knows first-hand about Immobile’s prowess as a goal-scorer. More so, he sees that the defending European Golden Boot winner will go on to succeed for Italy in the upcoming European tournament.
Acerbi made his case on this matter during his talk with the Italian-based outlet Sky Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).
We know how important he is in Lazio and in the national team. He is a great striker and we always expect him to score 40 goals a year. Besides being a great striker, he is also a great person.
He can’t wait to put out a great European Championship and to show that he scores a lot of goals in Italy. He will arrive at the competition very well.
Immobile is well capable of leading Italy upfront as its main center-forward.
