Lazio Need to Improve Performances Away From Home in Race for Top 4 Finish

Lazio need to improve their away performances if they want to achieve a top-four finish this campaign.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Biancocelesti have picked up 30 points from 14 games played in the second half of the season, averaging 2.14 points per match.

Looking at the first half of the season, Lazio picked up just 21 points, averaging 1.5 per match, showing the impact of the Champions League on the squad.

Simone Inzaghi’s side needs to work on their away results, however. Out of the team’s current 64 points, only 26 have been won away from the Italian capital, for an average point haul of 1.63 per match, significantly lower than the 2.24 point per match average from home matches.

The number of goals scored and conceded home and away tells a similar story; the Biancocelesti have scored 35 and conceded 23 in Rome, compared to 25 and 26 respectively away from the Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio’s remaining away games of the season are against Fiorentina tomorrow evening, technically Roma next weekend and Sassuolo in the final game of the season.
