Lega Serie A Rescind Luis Alberto’s Assist in Lazio’s Win Over Genoa

Lega Serie A have rescinded Luis Alberto’s assist for Joaquin Correa in Lazio’s 4-3 win over Genoa last week, meaning that he still has still failed to register an assist in Serie A this season.

According to a report from Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the 28-year-old Spaniard provided a simple pass to the Argentinian forward before Lazio’s fourth goal against the Rossoblu last weekend.

Luis Alberto’s assist was rescinded because before the goal Correa skipped past Edoardo Goldaniga and Davide Biraschi with a feint.

A similar situation occurred last week involving the same two Biancocelesti players, this time in the 3-0 win over AC Milan.

Luis Alberto played a pass to Correa in the buildup to the Roman club’s second goal, but because Correa dribbled past Fikayo Tomori, the goal’s development was considered to have started after the last pass.

This means that Luis Alberto officially has still not registered an assist in Serie A this campaign, despite his consistently strong performances and role in the buildup.
