Official: Lazio Include Luiz Felipe In Serie A Squad Registration List, Southampton Loanee Replaced

Lazio have included Luiz Felipe in their Serie A squad registration list, replacing Wesley Hoedt.

As announced in an official statement earlier today, the Biancocelesti included the 24-year-old Brazilian in the squad list with the on-loan 27-year-old Dutchman being replaced.

Luiz Felipe underwent ankle surgery at the end of January and was taken off the squad list. He has finally completed his recovery, returning to squad training earlier this week, and the Biancocelesti hope that he’ll be fit in time for the Derby della Capitale against Roma next weekend.

Lega Serie A erroneously posted that Luiz Felipe replaced Andreas Pereira in the registered squad list, although this was quickly amended and the Brazilian rightfully re-appeared on the web page.

The 27-year-old Hoedt will now be off the squad until the end of the season, when he’ll return to Premier League side Southampton. Disappointingly for the Dutchman, his second spell in Rome was not a success and he failed to perform convincingly under coach Simone Inzaghi.

Hoedt made 26 appearances across all competitions this campaign, for a total of 1587 minutes. In that time, he picked up eight yellow cards and helped the side keep three clean sheets.
