Failing to Qualify for the Champions League Likely to Affect Inzaghi’s Contract Renewal with Lazio

Lazio’s final position at the end of the season will have an effect on coach Simone Inzaghi’s contract renewal.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 45-year-old Italian coach still hasn’t signed a new deal with the Roman club yet, despite an agreement having been apparently reached, with a three-year extension on the cards.

Whilst there are no signs that Inzaghi won’t sign yet, Lazio’s finishing position in Serie A this campaign will inevitably have an effect on the renewal and resulting transfer market.

Failing to qualify for the Champions League means that the Biancocelesti are likely to invest less this summer in rejuvenating the squad, and it’s also likely that some add-ons in Inzaghi’s contract would be revised.

Lazio could still finish in the top four this season, and so the Biancocelesti will play game to game, keeping an eye fixed on the results of their nearby opponents.
