Heated Talks Between Lazio President Lotito & Igli Tare Over Recent Transfer Flops

Lazio president Claudio Lotito had a heated conversation with sporting director Igli Tare earlier over his recent transfer flops.

As reported by Italian media outlet La Lazio Siamo Noi earlier today, the Biancocelesti president was incredibly disappointed with the team’s painful 2-0 loss to Fiorentina on Sunday night. Not only was Lotito angry with the result, but also the performances of the team’s recent signings.

Vedat Muriqi, Mohamed Fares, Gonzalo Escalante, Pepe Reina, Andreas Pereira, Wesley Hoedt and Mateo Musacchio have all failed to particularly impress in Rome, with only the Spanish veteran goalkeeper being a true starter of the crop.

Lotito is frustrated with the low returns of the investments made, especially considering that Lazio ended last summer’s transfer window with a negative balance of €23 million, and still have little to show for it.

Many of Tare’s recent signings have been flops in Rome; Denis Vavro (€10 million), Riza Durmisi and Valon Berisha (€15 million for both), Vedat Muriqi (€17.5 million plus add-ons) and Mohamed Fares (€6.5 million plus add-ons) have cost over €50 million in total and yet have not lived up to expectations in the slightest.

That’s not even including other lackluster signings, like Jony and Bobby Adekanye, as well as the confusing usage of some young players.

Lotito doesn’t understand why a promising youngster like Raul Moro, who earns a first-team level salary, is never used by coach Simone Inzaghi, a fact that also confuses the Biancocelesti fans.

Due to all of this, Lotito wants to take back control at the club. Before, the Italian businessman was willing to delegate a significant amount to Tare and Inzaghi, but now he wants to take a more active role.

Tare still believes in the project and has a strong relationship with Lotito, but for now, tensions are heightened.

  1. I don’t really see Gonzalo as a disappointment.
He’s perfect as a complementary player with some decent qualities.
    Fares on the other hand.
Why in the world are we signing a player who played 9 games last season ,with no scorerpoints for about 6,5 million Euros and no Defensive qualities at all. Impossible to understand.
There were a bunch of player’s to sign for free, who could have helped immediately.
    Then the Muriqi transfer?!!!
He’s not a bad player don’t get me wrong.
But 17,5 million Euros for a additional player.
And why did we need a striker, why?
We do have the king himself ciro , the perfect addition to him tuco and the best joker in the League caicedo.
They’ve scored tones of goals last season, so why do we need another striker, who has only proven himself in the Turkish League.
For me selling bastos was also a big mistake.
He was the only one who could stop Lukaku last year at the olympico (1:1)
For the new season we definitely need a good left-winger/ left back .
I’m thinking of bradaric who has proven himself in Lille or Biraghi from Florence or the best option Frederico Dimarco, who might be expensive but a good choice.
Then we need a good backup for the back three or maybe a new starter and last but least maybe a new starting goalkeeper.
The perfect choice would be cragno from Cagliari also expensive but an investment for the future.
I would love a good discussion with you guys.
    With all being said.
    Forza Lazio
