Italian Journalist Pietrealla Discusses Whether Lazio Could Still Finish in the Serie A Top Four This Season

Lazio seemed as it was on the right path to make one grand late push for a possible top-four spot in the Serie A table until the side fell to Fiorentina. This loss for Lazio keeps the Biancocelesti at a sixth-place standing in the league table, which would qualify the side for next season’s Europa League competition.

Italian journalist Francesco Pietrella does not see that Lazio is completely out of the top-four picture in Serie A this season. Still, he believes that Lazio would now need plenty of help from other teams, which he detailed further why during his talk with Cittaceleste TV.

Lazio’s chances of making the UEFA Champions league are close to 30%. The Biancocelesti must win them all of their games and hope that the other clubs above them drop a few points.

Considering the schedules each team has, Lazio’s path is more difficult. Apart from Parma, which are already relegated, Lazio has Roma, Torino and Sassuolo; three teams that are still in the running for their season goals.

It would have been a different scenario if they would have defeated Fiorentina.

Lazio will now go on to clash with Parma tomorrow for what is now deemed as a must-win fixture.
