Lazio defender Wesley Hoedt has been absent from training since last week after he was replaced in the Serie A squad registration list.

Hoedt, who is currently on loan from Premier League side Southampton, will not play another game for Lazio this season, and so his second spell in Rome is over. Frustratingly for the Dutchman, he failed to impress this campaign and has often been left on the bench in recent months.

Hoedt has been missing from training this week and hasn’t trained with the squad since last Friday. The 27-year-old may return to Formello today, even if only in passing, as his future is now far from Lazio.
