Lazio Open Talks With Cagliari for Talented Duo Nandez & Cragno

Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has opened talks with Cagliari sporting director Stefano Capozucca about midfielder Nahitan Nandez and Alessio Cragno.

According to a report from Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are looking to rejuvenate the squad in this summer’s transfer window, and have identified the two Rossoblu players as important possible options.

The 25-year-old Nandez, who is contracted to the Sardinian side until 2024, has impressed this season for Leonardo Semplici’s side, with his quality, tactical flexibility and physical strength. He would be the ideal replacement for the aging Marco Parolo, who is set to leave at the end of the season.

Parolo’s contract expires with the Biancocelesti at the end of next month and he’s keen to play for a little longer, but Lazio are looking to add more youthful energy to the squad, and so a new deal won’t be offered.

The other Cagliari man Lazio are interested in is the 26-year-old Cragno, who is also contracted to the Rossoblu until 2024.

The Italian shot stopper is one of the most impressive and appreciated goalkeepers in Serie A and is ready to move to a big club.

He would be the ideal replacement for the estranged Thomas Strakosha, whose contract expires next season, meaning he’ll be available to sell in the summer.
