Lazio picked up a nail-biting Serie A win against Parma on matchday 36. Ciro Immobile’s late goal proved to be the difference as the Biancocelesti came away with a 1-0 win.

Immobile believes that this performance from Lazio shows that there are still multiple areas that the team must continue to improve. For instance, Immobile notes that Lazio must maintain a keen mentality on a game-by-game basis.

Immobile spoke further after the match to the Italian-based outlet Sky Sport (via Cittaceleste) on his early takeaways from Lazio’s performance and overall outlook ahead.

We have to grow mentally. We’ve been the best in Italy at times. We need our heads to aim for something more than sixth place. Lazio must think about growing year after year. The Champions League gives the club money and visibility. But in order to reach certain goals, we have to fight and improve.

Although this performance was a sluggish one from Lazio, it will be well remembered by Immobile as he scored the 150th goal of his career with the Biancocelesti. Immobile now stands as the club’s all-time leading goal-scorer.

For now, Immobile will aim to help lead Lazio to another key league win against AS Roma. Lazio has already secured that it will finish above its long-time rivals in the final league standings.
