Roma Defender Kumbulla: “We’re Very Anxious About the Derby Against Lazio”

Roma defender Marash Kumbulla revealed that the Giallorossi squad were anxious ahead of Saturday’s derby against Lazio.

Speaking in an interview on Roma’s outlets (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 21-year-old Albanian defender looked ahead to the upcoming Derby della Capitale.

We’re very anxious about the derby, we can’t wait to get on the pitch, especially after the first leg where we got it wrong.

We want to win the derby for the fans who are watching us from home.

The 21-year-old Kumbulla, who is currently on a loan deal with a buy obligation attached from Hellas Verona, has made 26 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1837 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and helped the side keep seven clean sheets.

In the first derby between the two sides this season, Lazio ran away 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Ciro Immobile and a brace from Luis Alberto.

A win for the Biancocelesti is key on Saturday if they still want a chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season; Simone Inzaghi’s side are currently six points behind fourth-place Napoli, although they do have a game in hand.
