Simone Inzaghi is the priority for Lazio when it comes to extensions, as the contract for their manager expires at the end of the season. Nonetheless, there are other people on the list that they’re looking to extend.

Francesco Acerbi is under contract until 2023, so there’s no rush to extend the 33-year-old. However, Lazio has the defender on its priority list of players they hope to reach an extension that keeps Acerbi for the remainder of his career with the Biancocelesti

According to Calciomercato.it (via Lazio News), Lazio wants to extend Acerbi until 2025, likely meaning the defender sees out his playing days with the Rome-based club and could move into a management role should he retire before his contract expires.

In April, reports surfaced that Acerbi had agreed to a contract extension with the defender, but no official announcement has been made. Various rumours were linking Acerbi to Inter Milan, per TuttoMercatoWeb, but an extension puts cold water on any departure talks.

The defender has made 136 appearances for Lazio since joining the club in 2018.
