Lazio Eye Chelsea’s Kepa Arrizabalaga as Possible Replacement for Strakosha

As the 2020-21 season reaches its conclusion, clubs have an eye on the summer as they look for ways to improve their squad.

For Lazio, the Italian side could circle a long-term solution at the goalkeeper position.

Pepe Reina is a serviceable goalkeeper, but at 37-years-old, the Biancocelesti need to find someone for the future.

After losing the positional battle to Reina, Thomas Strakosha isn’t the goalkeeper long-term fir the club either. With his contract expiring next summer, Lazio are looking more and more likely to sell him.

Lazio News reports that one name that the Rome-based club is monitoring is Chelsea FC’s Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Edouard Mendy seems to be the starter from now on for the English club. As a result, they’ll likely want to offload the player’s wages and cut ties on a lousy investment

According to Transfermarkt, Arrizabalaga’s transfer value is at €13 million. The Spain international has made 12 appearances for Chelsea while conceding nine goals.

The goalkeeper needs a change of scenery to revive his career, and Lazio could provide that next season.

However, Atletico Madrid will target Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga if Jan Oblak departs, according to Todo Fichajes, so Lazio are definitely in for a battle for his signature.
