Lazio Women Coach Morace Discusses 1-0 Victory Over Vicenza Calcio Femminile

Lazio Women coach Carolina Morace was overjoyed with the Biancocelesti’s 1-0 win over Vicenza yesterday.

Speaking in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Lazio Style Radio (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) earlier today, the 57-year-old Italian coach first touched on yesterday’s win.

Happy with yesterday’s win. A good squad has been created and I’ve been lucky to have had so many positive leaders this year.

The team and the players have always been there, we had to succeed in making them express themselves at their best.

She commented on the importance of veteran Spanish forward Adriana Martín.

She has been fundamental, this division is too small for her and she would make the difference in many Serie A teams.

The girls followed her and the results were seen on the field. She literally dragged the whole squad with her charisma and her goals.

Finally, Morace spoke about the performance in yesterday’s win.

The match against Vicenza was special, we perhaps played the best first half since I’ve been here, playing good football.

In the second half our opponents pushed harder, but the ball was always in Lazio’s hands, and the result was perhaps a bit close.

Morace’s Lazio are now top of Serie B Women after 25 games, sitting on 50 points, one ahead of second-place Pomigliano.

Their final game of the season is against Tavagnacco on Sunday this weekend.
