Over the years, Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has gained recognition in being one of the more underrated playmakers in Serie A. Just last season, Milinkovic-Savic was among Lazio’s leaders in assists in all competitions with six.
So far this season, Milinkovic-Savic has recorded a keen nine assists in all competitions. Unlike in previous seasons, all of Milinkovic-Savic’s assists recorded over the ongoing campaign have come in Serie A play.
More so, the nine assists recorded by the Serbian midfielder in this campaign are tied with his 2017/2018 season for the most he has logged in a single season with the Biancocelesti.
Milinkovic-Savic will have a pair of opportunities to record his possible 10th assist of the season as Lazio have a mere two matches remaining on its league schedule, which will come in the upcoming fixtures against Torino and Sassuolo.
Lazio would surely like to see the Serbian workhorse midfielder contribute with an assist in either of these two fixtures.
