Lazio president Claudio Lotito will meet with outgoing Napoli coach Gennaro Gattuso in a few days after initial talks.
As reported by Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb earlier today, the 43-year-old Italian coach is set to leave the Partenopei this summer after suffering a total relationship breakdown with president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

He is tipped to be the frontrunner to replace Biancocelesti coach Simone Inzaghi, should the 45-year-old Italian decide not to sign a contract renewal.

Lotito’s priority is still to reach an agreement with Inzaghi and the meeting scheduled after the final game of the season against Sassuolo will be decisive. Should that meeting bear no fruit, however, then Lotito will focus his efforts on securing Gattuso.
Gattuso has been in charge of Napoli since December 2019, taking over from Carlo Ancelotti, and currently has a points-per-game average of 1.90, higher than his 1.73 with AC Milan. He has almost secured Champions League football again for the Partenopei; they sit one point ahead of Juventus.
